Hazrat Syed Zuhur Abbas, also known as Shah Miyan Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him), was a great saint who combined both outward (formal) and inward (spiritual) knowledge, and he also possessed evident and hidden spiritual excellences.
Family
The name of his respected father was Syed Shah Jamal Madar (may his secret be sanctified), who passed away in 1247 Hijri.
His honorable grandfather was most probably Hazrat Syed Shah Nasrullah (may Allah be pleased with him), whose demise occurred in 1240 Hijri.
Bay‘ah and Spiritual Affiliation
Syed Zuhur Abbas, also known as Shah Miyan (may Allah have mercy on him), took bay‘ah in the exalted Madari Sufi Order from his respected father, Syed Shah Jamal Madar (may his secret be sanctified), and his spiritual completion was attained from Maulana Syed Shah Samaruddin Ahmad.
Habits and Conduct
There was great majesty and sternness in his temperament, due to which not every person had the courage to present petitions or personal matters before him.
Miracle
It once happened that more than half of the rainy season had passed, yet not a single drop of water had fallen upon the earth. The creation of God was in severe distress and deep anxiety. On one occasion, some people, finding an opportunity, fearfully submitted, “Huzoor! More than half of the rainy season has passed, and not a single drop of water has fallen upon the land.” Upon hearing this, he remained silent for a long time, with his head bowed in meditation. Then, addressing those people, he said, “Do not lose hope in the mercy of God; Allah the Exalted will soon show mercy.” Thereafter, he raised his hands in supplication before the Divine Presence and, going into prostration, continued praying for such a long time that a mass of rain clouds appeared, spread across the sky, and rain fell according to desire.

Syed Zuhur Abbas, also known as Shah Miyan (may Allah have mercy on him), passed away on the 4th of Sha‘ban, 1290 Hijri.
